Summer Review and Fall 2018 Goals
There are a lot of new changes and adjustments in my life to get used to, what with the start of grad school, so I'm going to try to go easy on myself with what I'd like to get accomplished over the next few months.

I actually got a lot more done over the summer than I thought I would. I studied for two evaluations that I just took during orientation for my Master's program, and I managed to do a LOT of revisions on SHORE OF DARKNESS, my "Dante WIP" that I returned to after hiring a professional editor to look at it.
Thankfully, I managed to finish the bulk of revisions this summer. Those who follow me on social media know that I'm not imposing any deadlines on myself; that I want to focus on actively improving my craft and getting to know this story again, rather than throw it back out into the query trenches right away.
Not to mention I love my Dante WIP, and I don't want to rush through it and let it go.
FALL 2018 GOALS
My primary goal this fall will be to keep my head above water for the first semester of my Master's program. I have three major things to work on this fall, each comprised of a million smaller tasks.
1) Schoolwork--readings, assignments, the day-to-day grind.
2) Italian visa--my program will take place mainly in Florence (!!!), so this fall we all need to gather paperwork for our visa and find a place to live in Florence. I am well-versed in the visa process by now, and am mainly worried about finding an apartment...
3) Writing--I'm at the point where I'm fine-tuning and looking over trouble spots in my Dante WIP, so the biggest stuff is done. I'm also tentatively starting a *Secret WIP* that will be completely unlike anything I've ever written. More information to come, eventually. Right now I'm working on drafting it whenever I have free-time, so it's not priority.
So there's a lot to think about, and I'm pretty overwhelmed right now. Orientation week was one of the longest weeks of my life--three tests and six readings given to us, and classes hadn't even officially started! Such is the life of graduate students, I suppose. It is exciting, though, that this is all material I love. I'm just taking it a day at a time.
Any goals you're setting for the fall? Who's looking forward to wearing sweaters again and leaving behind the unbearable heat of this summer?
